In the Dawn Era, a group of Lith-Crillion along with Hades created the first voidship from a living organism. This team of scientists was led by Anubis, Hades, Ptah, and Set. The group considered Set to be one that liked taking short-cuts and of questionable morals, yet the best at creative ways to solve things. After the Âni-Zandân passed its flight tests, Bruh Kreniik decided it was time to put the four to more important tasks. They were raised to 5th Rank Angels, then sent off to help and lead armies under the god Bal-Kriav.

Late in the God Era, Set stole one of Danzar-Khâl's instruments of creation. In 9450 GE, Set illegally used Danzar-Khâls Surveyor, creating the three human sub-races that make-up the Khazarkar people. These three races, the Corralum, Minâth, and Terrant were specifically made to serve a role in Khazarkar society.

It took three centuries for Danzar-Khâl to track down the theft and punish Set. The punishment became known as the Maenedhel Shattering. The god Danzar-Khâl spared the Khazarkar from destruction, warning Set:

You lack the wisdom learned from centuries of creation. The result, three races that are castes, with two serving one. They will be a troublesome people.

Set is said to have replied, they are my people in the way I envision them, just like the Dulun-Khâl modeled on you, forged from primordial muck.

- Danzar-Khâl, to Set before the Maenedhel Shattering - "Castes By Design"

Driven to the surface in the Maenedhel Shattering, a time of survival followed. Many khazarkars prayed for the return of Set, calling out for his guidance, his leadership. In 292 LE, this divine calling, and its divine power, was enough to put him in the ranks of the Higher Powers.

By the First Epoch, Set was a lesser power. His rise to greater power was sealed after the Eldritch Civil War (1017 - 1027). In this war, the Khazarkar opposing the Eldritch Conclave were fragmented. They were split among the churches of Set and Kebechet, and the long established ruling caste of the Khazarkar, the Minâth-Nôrî. With the end of the Eldritch Civil War, the Conclave was defeated. The Church of Set reigned supreme, beginning a monotheism in the Second Khazarkar Empire that has ruled the last eight centuries.

When the Khazarkar Empire expanded east across Cinazan, the spear-head of this advance was not soldiers but priests of Set. The Tarkazgir spread the word of Set to villages and settlements on the surface and those beneath. The part surface and part Underdark town of Mulun-Dûna has a powerful church of Set. From this town, the influence of Set worship spread like a serpent into the Underdark. This led to the creation of churches and agencies to spread Khazarkar influence. These also serve as spy networks within foreign empires and city-states. The drow empire Runelderil is one of the largest foreign empires to be converted by the Church of Set. The other Underdark empire where Set's influence is strong is Zandûl-Khâl.

Today, Set is a greater god. His worshipper base is concentrated in the Khazarkar Empire, a monotheism to Set, enforced by the will of the Pharzîmrâth.

When Set killed Jurmalon, he took his weather domain, using its power to bolster his darkness domain.

Among Khazarkar high priests, a flail called the Fangs of Set is their preferred weapon. The Fangs of Set have spiked balls which look like coils of a cobra. Another form of this weapon is the Jackals of Set. This flail has chains linked to small iron heads shaped like the heads of sinister jackals. These weapons also serve as the holy symbol of Set. In most cases, these weapons are magical and inflict some form of poison upon those on the receiving end.
