Yastorogg began as hunting camp where trogs scoured the towering cliffs of Raefknar for bird eggs and flightless fowl the size of mules and as dangerous as a newborn dragon. For this bigger game, including the occasional griffon and wyvern, trog hunters deployed nets, Covenant siege ballista leftover from the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), and an array of smaller missile weapons. Dangerous hunting even today, locals have long lived off Athroonds Hounds. Beasts a cross between demon goats that once fed Athroond's legions, and native mountain goats, they are a common meat for the entire region; even packed in ice and sent down river to Undercity, then up to the finest Paradomean restaurants.
On 7 Temporal 1009, defaulting on city loans, Yastorogg was legally transferred to the Irdtrax Republic. Internally it made little difference to the people of Yastorogg, many were already Irdrax transplants, living here for work or business interests. Externally, to the cities of Vhurindrar, Shoglomph, and Slave Pen, a bigger Irdrax meant even more economic strangulation of the Great Tradeway.
In 1337 of the Raefknar War (1333 - 1338), Yastorogg was captured by a demon named Dvr'jiss.
Built by thousands of slaves, the Palace of Jagg is the city's most remarkable feature. Sparing no expense, with craftsmen brought in from across the lands, its ornate walls are inlaid with Styx Granite and topped with the skulls of all those that have resisted the word of Dvr'jiss Jagg.
