In the Horgon Era, clever marketing of the eggs and avian of Throa Sveid, along with limiting supply, made them a delicacy of Hofthorm's wealthy palates. In 253 HE, the nesting cliffs of Throa Sveid, in the name of fair prices and public good, were made property of the state. Built by fire giants, the settlement of Arnogrygg served as the kingdom's claim to the area and all its bounty.

With none seriously contesting Hofthorm's claim, Arnogrygg became a hunting lodge for the dukes, princes and royal family. They and their staff, hunted the area's avian, collecting the eggs, and most importantly, made big profits. The center of an enterprise, Arnogrygg grew to a small town, home to fire giants, hobgoblins, and the bullywug. The latter, natives of Throa Sveid's then marshy coasts, competitors for the area's game, were a subjugated people. Under the boot of the fire giants, the Bullywug habit of over-hunting and over-populating, were severely curtailed.

Hofthorm's conflicts with the Glangveif turned what was once a lodge for the wealthy into a towering fortress carved into the cliffs of Throa Sveid. Periods of peace between these Titan Empires, with the mercantile factions replacing the hawkish types, led to the building of a great coastal port with cranes sending goods and personnel down to shelves cut-out of the cliffs and then to a floating harbor.

When King Hlimi died in the Year 101, the Hofthorm Monarchy fell to his five sons, the Princes of Hlimi. The Prince of Arnogrygg, a drunkard and womanizer, soon followed the path of his father. In the rowdy drunkenness of the former King's funeral celebrations, the prince fell to the empire's disenfranchised. Hobgoblins and bullywug, taught to hate each other, ganged up on the giants of Arnogrygg, taking the city.

Under the victors, Arnogrygg became an independent city-state, an important stopping point of the Nermanean trade routes. When the Nermanis Sea receded, the great port of Arnogrygg became a sandy ruin. Like many other places bordering a once great inland sea, Arnogrygg went through a period of depopulation and economic decline. This lasted until 1390, when Arnogrygg was military annexed, becoming a holding of the Khazarark Empire.
