|Type||ships primarily powered by the wind and oar|
Sailing ships were introduced to Bal-Kriav in the Creation War. In this epic conflict between gods and primordials, the opposing sides used ships to transport war materials and troops across great inland seas and vast oceans. In the Dawn Era, navigation was learned by those mortals that worked alongside the major factions of that period. By the start of the God Era, navigating by the stars had largely been replaced with the use of compasses.

By the Third Epoch, mercantile and naval fleets of many civilizations had advanced to massive ships of the line, galleons, and frigates. These ships vary in style and build, from the sleek lines of Malacost, to the light and quick designs of the League of Gyalech, to the mammoth Grimsuvelth Trawlers of Oathundor. As will the ships vary, so will their armaments. The majority of combat vessels encountered, will be armed with cannons.
