Map | Cimgen Forest |
The evergreens of Cimgen, impervious to fire, sprawl along the vales and slopes of the Elephant Backbone. Once a normal evergreen forest, war brought great change with Covenant druids and a Creationist named Bal-Kriav bolstering the forest with nature energy, making them grow massive and extremely hardy with sprawling root systems capable of burrowing through the hardest of rock, and supporting trunks a hundred feet or more in diameter and towering 900' or more.
In the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), areas of Cimgen's root system served as Covenant bulwark against Primordial onslaughts coming out of the Regadnîn Wastes. During the many battles of Regadnîn, hundreds of trees were killed by various methods. Still very hard and impervious to fire, many were re-purposed as Covenant outposts, supply depots, hospitals, bunkers, barracks, storage and eventually homes. Today, half of these places are ruins, hidden by overgrowth, or swallowed by trees still as remarkable as the time they were conceived.
The oldest road system of the continent is in Cimgen's canopy. Known as the Covenant Roads, it is a vast road system along vine bridges, across massive branches and through trees shaped by device and magic.
