When Malad-Mîn fell, her people split into two groups. One group ended up in the Clans region, while the largest group moved into the western areas of Khalas and established the nation of Brisingr. For nearly five centuries after it's formation, Brisingr was led by a government similar to Khazir-Mizir. As time passed, the dwarves made peace with other peoples and began accepting refugees into their nation and then granting citizenship. The diversity in the civilization was noticeable by the middle of the First Epoch. In the Year 503, Brisingr adopted a federalist government. This government represents the racial groups of the nation along with the interests of Brisingr's territorial governments.

The Brisingr nation is sited across a vast area of Ice Cap. Brisingr trades with Icyke and the Deep Six. The greatest threats to this empire are tribes of frost giants, the Gamakkhazar, and the countless goliath barbarian tribes of Khalas.
