In the Demon Spawn War (8972 GE - 9493 GE), a primordial aberration named Blibdoolpoolp came to this area. She reluctantly served a demon lord Athroond. Cunning, charismatic, and extremely intelligent, she was one of those catching on to the "god-thing". Of great ego, she planned to walks the hallow steps of the Temple of Ascension. Blibdoolpoolp convinced Athrood to give her the space to create new armies for him.

Better in the lab than on the line. Assigning Blibdoolpoolp to Army Development.

- Athroond, from his military journal - "Troop Transfer"

In 8987 GE, aquatic demons and aboleth servants built a half-submerged citadel called Oomkaan. It was named in tribute to the head aboleth surgeon that had created Blibdoolpoolp.

Oomkaan's initial purpose was to serve as a prison for captives destined for the Toadoolp Twists. In the Demon Spawn War, these areas of entropic energy were used to transform captives into the first kuo-toans. As their numbers steadily increased, Oomkaan became the first major settlement of the kuo-toan people. After their numbers reached about 10,000, and on orders of their mother creator Blibdoolpoolp, the kuo-toa instigated a bloody purge across Blibdoolpoolp Bosom, hunting down the lake's aboleth. After this, and for the rest of the Demon Spawn War, Blibdoolpoolp warred with the demons and any who sought to interfere in her machinations for godhood.

For the first half of the Lith-Crillion Era, Oomkaan's importance over other holds of Blibdoolpoolp Bosom came from an area called the Ovaries of Oomkaan. These great pools, fifteen of them, are taps into dark seas of the Cresting Spires. Fish factories have worked these otherworldly waters since the time of Blibdoolpoolp, keeping the population well-fed.

In 9481 GE, Oomkaan became the capital of the Âkhi Empire.
