Built in the Lith-Crillion Era by the Bullywug, Grol'vun began as a shrine to a demon lord named Aperoq. A barbaric place for a barbaric people, it was surrounded by the bones of the thousands that had been sacrificed to a demon on the path of Ascension. For centuries, constant tribal in-fighting and distrust kept the place from being anything more than a war shrine for the victors.

In the reign of Mir'piamauza (526 HE - 1612 HE), worship of Aperoq was outlawed. The shrine of Grol'vun was tore down, its bricks used in each of the fireplaces of a growing fortress. The Mir'piamauza kept the old name, appeasing the natives, and allowing them to pay tribute at a new shrine dedicated to an aspiring god named Asmodeus.

In the First Epoch, as a show of strength, the dragon empire of Thashangriel, rebuilt what had been a ruin since the fall of Mir'piamauza. From Grol'vun, they quelled the restless bullywug and threatened the lands of the Tulukhan.

Abandoned by the start of the Second Epoch, Grol'vun is once again a ruin. It has been the lair of black dragons, bullywug warlords, witches, vampires, and other foul things.
