Nature energy that has been mixed with evil energy becomes dark nature energy. It can taint the land, changing forests to places with a lot more evil creatures running around. Spells that use dark nature energy are those that are druidic and cause harm to plants, animals, and the living, so instead of plant growth which uses nature energy, plant decay would use dark nature energy. There is only one Higher Power that has access to dark nature energy, and that is Melrith. When you ask for one of these spells, it is Melrith doing the giving. She doesn't ask anything in return, taking glee in each and every usage.
