Rorthurk sits at the headwaters of the Hound Wash. Built in the Demon Spawn War (8972 GE - 9493 GE), it covered the south approaches to Kennel, then the seat of power for a demon lord named Yeenoghu.
Under the Yagamph Republic (746 - 956), Rorthurk became a major trade stop, linking the republic's capital with Muzratân and other holds of the Galathien Sea. After the republic's fall in 956, Rorthurk was left a ruin. Within a century, Rorthurk's once great harbor and canals, long dredged by the republic, became sediment clogged and marshy.
