In the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), a Covenant archangel named Anubis was killed in the northern reaches of the Sands of Hell.
In life, Anubis had great regenerative powers, recovering from death's door dozens of times. Perhaps knowing death was near, when Anubis was about to be blown out of existence, he transferred this regenerative power into his bones. Covenant engineers built the Pyramid of Anubis to contain the life energy emanating from Anbuis's bones, a seemingly endless source.
The bones of Anubis rest in a great sarcophagi made from the scales of a primordial sand worm. Above this is a 120' high pyramid, magically shielded, keeping most of the life energy from flooding out.
In the Lith-Crillion Era, the life energy readings of this area were brought to the attention of the Sâlo Tânê. Lith-Crillion researchers, they built the Pyramid of Life as a means of collecting the life energy seeping out of the Pyramid of Anubis.
The Pyramid of Anubis is a holy pilgrimage site for the followers of Kebechet, daughter of Anubis.
