Tixargium was founded in the Demon Spawn War (8972 GE - 9493 GE) by the demon legions of Baphomet. In the place's labs, spread across the jungle swathe and polluted streams, demon researchers used a stolen relic of creation, a device with the powers of a Tier 3 Creationist. They used it to create a race beholden to them; it was not a new concept, Creationists, Primordial Lords, and Covenant leaders had been doing it since the Dawn Era. At Tixargium, on 16 War March 8985 GE, Baphomet's demon scientists created the Minotaur race.
In the Lith-Crillion Era, the place was home to beasts and animals, with Gorantin swinging over overgrown streets and vine blanketed buildings. They patrolled the place for demon influences leftover from the time when Tixargium served as a base for the demon lord Baphomet and his lackeys.
In the Horgon Era, Talaxan explorers out of Dechôz came here looking for ancient relics. It is said that some of them were Giracian proselytizers who felt it their duty to cleanse the ruin of its dark past. The Janni followed next. After becoming shipwrecked, and on an alien world, they were eventually found by Tixargium patrols, rescued from a pitiful existence in sea caves which most of the time served as the abode of harpies or a sahuagin camp. Nearing the end of the Horgon Era, coming in from the wilds, some Gorantin began calling themselves citizens of Tixargium.
