The Eyes are enormous spherical objects which from the distant look like a mini-world. Built from the stuff of Chaos, each is a massive earth mote or the linking together of hundreds of them. The Third Instructor was the chief engineer and mastermind behind the construction of each Eye. The work of building them was done by his Artificers of 3-I.
In the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), the Eyes served as floating fortresses, rapidly moving along the Astral Sea in support of the Covenant war effort.
At the heart of every Eye is an Icarus Core. This device provides the surrounding Eye with its mobility and an environment equal to that found on full-sized worlds.
