The Eyes are enormous spherical objects that function as mini-worlds. Built from the stuff of Chaos, each is a massive earth mote or the linking together of hundreds of them. The Third Instructor was the chief engineer and mastermind behind their construction; the work of building them was done by the Artificers of 3-I.
In the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), the Eyes served as floating fortresses, rapidly moving along the Astral Sea in support of the Covenant war effort.
At the heart of every Eye is an Icarus Core. This device provides the surrounding Eye with its mobility and environment.
