When the Nermanis Sea drained down, the people along its shores found themselves unprotected from Cinazan's restless giants and other hostile elements. One group ended up in the western forest hills of Hangath. Mostly halflings, they were originally from Maurkac and others smaller settlements of the Nermanis Syndicate (712 - 923).
In the Dead Harvest (1130 - 1135), a famine so severe, desperate for food and water, many turned to eating their goblin enemies and their own. To outsiders, they became known as the Children of the Glutton, devotees of The Glutton.
