Storm giants have lived along this bay since the Dawn Era - with nearly all of them claiming to have heritage to soldiers that served under Talos in the Creation War. The giants have a history of pirating that began from interactions with a Gradorian captain out of Kel'gah. Before the rise of the Khazarkar Empire and Shounejo, Bastleid's storm giant pirates were the most feared group in Gunaegail. Reprisals for their unrestrained pirating and raiding led to them joining together as the Naurghar empire. Their settlements are along the bay and up the deep fjords that are a hallmark of the area.
