Westerlies Agreement

MembersIvory Asylum, Paradomea
Period1388 - 1466

Sarurkane of the Council of Nine came up with this trade protection agreement as means of curbing the pirates of the Buccaneer Archipelago. In 1388, he forged the Westerlies Agreement, a trade agreement between Paradomea and Ivory Asylum. With it, joint policing of trade routes was started between the northern coasts of Izagunbar and the southern coasts of Hells Womb. For Ivory Asylum and Paradomea, this began a period of prosperity that lasted more than seventy years. This started to decline in the Black Tide War (1465 - 1504) with trade dropping hard in 1465 when Ivory Asylum lost their colonial capital Ivory Ward. Looking to stay out of the war, Sarurkane nullified the pact in 1466. Days later, he forged a neutrality pact with the Black Tide.
