Thrawkrall was formed in the Dawn Era when Hermir Azrik, a massive otherworldly volcano, collapsed. This let in the waters of the nearby channel sea, the Salzârrâk, forming what became known as the bay of Thrawkrall.

In the Second Epoch, at great expense, magical energy, and slave labor, Ba'lith created many artificial islands across the bay. These islands are generally small and typically hold a small fort and docking piers. Most of them were built in the Horn Tusk Conflict (1023 - 1467) as a defense against Ivory Asylum's navy. Today, they serve as fishing villages of 5-15 homes, provisioning points for ship repairs, or a naval fortress of Ba'lith.
