Fathrorn grew up in Argruxiel. After an incident with the governor's daughter, turning her into a vampire, Fathrorn and his new wife fled to Cinazan. They took up residence in a city quite like the one they abandoned. In the Khazarkar city Mirkathân, Fathrorn applies his great understanding of necromancy by helping the Imrinôn with their handling of undead soldiers in service to the Khazarkar Empire.
