Fragning was founded as a market between the surface and the deeps beneath. The giants and humanoids of the area were slowly being brought into the Gnemdos Trade Network. This trade would lead to many giving up the path of raiding and plundering to more civilized ways.

In the Year 120, the Horde of Tamoroc sacked this place, slaughtering everything inside. They then burned the place to the ground and camped the area for several years, feeding on the numerous dire goats and dire sheep that freely roam the surrounding hills. This jara horde ended up being driven off by a large band of earth giants, stone giants, ogres, and other humanoids. After reclaiming the place, Chieftain Vaesvild made his son the town's governor. This son kept the title chieftain for a mere decade, killed by an internal feud. It is said he whispered a curse, that none shall rule Fragning for more than he. This has held true, with no governor ever keeping their position for more than a decade.

For the most part, the denizens of this place keep to themselves, raising livestock and mining the nearby hills for iron and other metals. Fragning is known for using cave bears as war beasts.
