Built to slow the abyssal legions of Demogorgon, the volcano Vaermund joined a network of volcanoes of the Agulbandal Wastes. With frequent eruptions, Vaermund and the others made the landscape a treacherous place to cross.
When the threat of the demons moved on, Vaermund became home to a long line of of petty tyrants spanning thousands of years. In the Horgon Era, more sensible leaders gained power. They gave up raiding and warmongering for commercial interests. Known as the Soot Lords, they have holds stretching from the upper reaches of the volcano down to where it joins with Annbilds Entrail.
