The victories of the Athenian Crusade in the Lands of Purity emboldened those in the neighboring Hells Womb region. In 1543, a secret war pact was signed between those long under threat and sometimes under attack by the same enemy caught up in the Athenian Crusade. After two years of preparation, the fiery legions of Surticon, the great mounted forces of the Council of Bile and the navy of the Paradomea Syndicate went into action, starting another front with the Black Tide of Thasmudyan named the Artery War (1546 - 1554).
