Ligath's parents served in the armies of the Torgilm Confederacy (1475 - 1719). They both died in the Brother’s Enmity War. She doesn’t fault Ba'lith emperor Raxcvillibus for their death, thinking it’s the life of a soldier. Not wanting to suffer an early death like her parents, she took the civil path. The exhilaration of service aboard the Pillar of Horns changed her thinking, re-awakened the "blood of war" that seems to run in some families. She decided to that she wanted to be an engineer of a war, rather one of that services the Pillar from the safety of the machine's dacite hull.
