Thaoun was a Tragaran tribe, mostly fishermen, that founded fishing village Sourm-Gar. As the population increased, the families of this tribe become the settlement's leaders, and then nobility by the start of the Horgon Era. When the Cal-Thaoun Dynasty was established, the Thaoun tribe, still close-knit families, had the honor of seeing one of their familes put in charge of the nation's affairs. It was agreed by the other families that this honor of rule would be rotated among the families, but this never came to fruition with the Cal-Thaouns ruling unbroken for the next seven centuries.
