Troglodytes began arriving in this area around the end of the Demon Spawn War. It is said that in the area of Trog Run they number in the tens of thousands. This number is more likely the total spread across a network of tunnels andcaverns spanning multiple levels of the Underdark.

Over the ages, the trogs of this area have at one time or another served as mercenaries for every Garathral city-state. They are unreliable in the long-term, turning on rival tribes and causing more harm than good to the employer.

Trog Run is along the Great Tradeway. The trogs charge tolls for safe passage. Each tribe charges a fee that as a whole is limited by trade treaties with a number of states on the surface and beneath.
