This term is used when referring to earthquakes. It is believed that these earthquakes are the result of Geb performing great feats of strength in his citadel called Deepest Deep.
The spread of this term across the realm started with the priests of Geb. They either truly believed that Geb was exercising and splitting apart the earth, or perhaps they just wanted to get his name out, and his influence on the realm.
