The Great Neogi War was one of survival. After exhausting their world's food supply in the Lith-Crillion Era, Cryphoeca's neogi empires turned on each other. The lone survivor of this era-long war was Arachnidion.
Two ages of destruction, you would think they would have learned something about population control or maintaining food sources, but they didn't. For them, being hunters is instinctual, overriding their own intellect to provide for themselves.
