Deep Squid Scale is an armor made by the Norderns. Deep Squid slain or captured for harvesting have their tougher scales removed and hardened. The hardening process involves special elixirs and then a soaking of the scalemail in a tank of rotting jellyfish, seaweed, and an array of other marine ingredients. The final product is an unattractive sight on the surface, but underwater the camouflage properties of the armor come into effect. For underwater hide checks, the wearer of Deep Squid Scales adds +2 to skill check.
