Brain Eaters are illithid weapons that have the power to consume the brain of those struck by it. The victim's brain can then be turned into an intellect devourer that reluctantly serves its creator. The weapon's enchantment range depends on the level of the brain consumed. Every three hit dice/levels are equal to +1 enchantment, up to +5 for the brain of a 15th level foe.
The haft of the weapon is made of deep crystal connected to a glassteel sphere. When empty of a power source, this sphere is partially filled with a briny ichor; after consuming a brain, it is a grisly sight of pulsating brain and bubbling ichor.
