Rumak-Khâl is an icy vale east of Khalas. The two areas are separated by the steamy swamps of Dalan-Dûl. The eastern part of Khalas and western part of Rumak-Khâl have been territory of the goliath for centuries. These tribes are always in a state of war with each other, with Brisingr, or with the giants or Azwyr Amoruk.
Rumak-Khâl is often blanketed with smoke and fog. Both are a product of the frequent eruptions of the area's volcano. This volcano was named Bjalprek after a great goliath chieftain who captured Bazud-Ganal.
