On 16 Hollow 1326, the balor Dvr'jiss was yanked from the Abyss. This came about because his father Demogorgon, tired of his machinations for greater power and seditious acts, cast him out, rather than kill him. Seers with a background in demon lore, unanimously agree that this was not an act of compassion but a means of promoting his interests on Bal-Kriav. Demogorgon passed on the true name of his son Dvr'jiss to a conclave of Theegan witches. They summoned him to Bal-Kriav and bound him to serve them. The violent temper and seductive ploys of Dvr'jiss led to the deaths of several witches.

In 1329, Athenas Lanterns, a holy order of knights and priests out of Holy Sanctum, invaded the witch sanctum Ara'rya. In the assault, the witches released Dvr'jiss thinking that he would help them defeat holy inquisitors giving no quarter to those that consorted with demons. Dvr'jiss did not stick around and risk his own head for creatures that would be dead in decades even if they survived the wrath of Athenas Lanterns. Dvr'jiss flew east under cover of silence and invisibility magic. In the northwestern corner of Hells Womb, he used guile and charisma to bring together gnoll, Toomrur, and hill giant tribes. They were sent forth, raiding the outlying holds of elven Gwaeldior and dwarven Gathol.

In 1332, Dvr'jiss's intelligence network learned that the elves of Celebriän and the dwarves of Strumpktar had joined forces and were preparing to march against him. This was a shock because up until that time, Dvr'jiss had played their racial hatreds. Dvr'jiss did not like his odds, so he took his army east, breaking through dwarven lands and suffering attack all along a brutal march that took a week. They arrived on the edge of the Raefknar rift and retreated into it. The decision to go down wiped out 20% of the army. This was because the hill giant contingent were unable to walk the narrow paths leading into the rift. They battled to the last against a storm of elven arrows and dwarven war axes. The dwarves and elves did not follow them into the rift. They were violating territorial agreements between Strumpktar and Alreirsoar by being in the area. Alreirsoar gave them to the next morning to leave or suffer hostilities. The elves and dwarves left the area, failing the main objective of the Balor Prince War - taking out Dvr'jiss.

Dvr'jiss and his army needed a place of refuge. When they learned that Yastorogg was at war with Bolip-Stalacite, Dvr'jiss joined in the assault on the those caught in the middle - the defenders of Yastorogg. The Raefknar War led to the capture of Yastorogg and a new home for Dvr'jiss.

The muscle for Dvr'jiss Jagg is a mated pair of ancient blue dracoliches. Both were raised by him from birth after having personally slain their mother. Before becoming undead, the incestuous relationship of the two dragons produced several dragon abominations which were set loose to terrorize the lands around the Raefknar Depression.

Dvr'jiss has fathered a number of champions, one of those is Dax Jagg.
