Saurrel was founded by Gwildath separatists. When the rebel leader Marchenir and his anti-royalist army proclaimed it their capital, opening citizenship to any fey, it started the Gwildath Civil War (1114 LE - 1121 LE). By the end of this war, it was the capital of the nation of Marchenir, one peopled by Kriavfahliil, Centaur, Satyr and Tungesti.
