Tranda-Tak is a massive crater in the northern highlands of the Sournbracks. It is ten miles in diameter and the result of the volcanic cone collapse. At the bottom of Tranda-Tak is a frozen lake. The once imposing cone of the mountains is gone but that has not ended the volcanic activity. The lava still churns deep beneath the crater. Sometimes the volcanic pressure releases, resulting in calcification of the ice and a steam cloud that blankets the area for miles in all directions. It is during these eruptions, that hundreds of steam mephits pour forth from the crater and terrorize the humanoids and other beasts dwelling in the area. The presence of the mephits leads some to believe that the volcanic eruptions result in temporary rifts between this realm and Chaos.
