Flaming Belt Felakgathar

Flaming Belt Mountains

In the Dawn Era, Danzar-Khâl named these unnatural mountains Felakgathar. His last act as a Creationist was the creation of a belt of volcanoes and burning lakes which would serve as a barrier against the black ice of Perge'khas and its controller Cari'phis. After giving up his powers of creation Danzar-Khâl became one of the top generals of the Nawirrûs Covenant. Felakgathar became his base of military operations and would become the front-lines between the god Danzar-Khâl and his adversary, the primordial lord Cari'phis.

The Flaming Belt is a chain of active volcanoes and soot-covered mountains. It spans the entire north-south axis of Vhurghad. Some of the volcanic eruptions of the Flaming Belt leak into Sava'khar resulting in pools and lakes of liquid iron.

The peaks of this volatile mountain range are home to cinder swarms, Fyrreid, and dozens of fire giant bastions. The heat of the zone also attracts red dragons and others preferring very hot conditions.

According to a Scroll of Dawn, sometime in the God Era, Danzar-Khâl caught up with Surtur and made a deal with him:

Section 1, Surtur, set your minions to guard Felakgathar from the primordials and minions imprisoned beneath and in Malurn. Do this, and I will call off the dogs. You can have your place among the mortals and even take some as worshipers if that suits you.
