The Dark Eight are the top generals of Asmodeus. They helped Asmodeus win victory in his masterful scheme called the Reckoning. The Dark Eight is composed of eight mighty pit fields who as a group are a match for just about any creature in existence. As such, Asmodeus makes sure they are never brought together unless he has an army of loyal allies close by.
The Dark Eight keep a vast collection of military manuals which are on military fields of study honed over thousands of years and innumerable conflicts. They keep a staff of librarian types which collect reams of notes on decisions and outcomes of battles, along with a detailed account of each unit's history. They each have a dozen or so living vaults which hold powerful magic items and relics beneficial for large scale battles.
