Phorngoad is a mixed racial clan of the Clans region. It was formed in 1584, the year Fargimdal acquired steam technology. The joining of the Gindamul, a Turkûn clan, with the Phorn, a wealthy halfling family, exiled from Vorangrith, was an unusual combination. This type of union was uncommon at time; usually done for more bargaining power in government or to meet a business need. Phorngoad was established for business, using the family's great wealth to undertake a project of monumental proportions. In 1587, they started a grand project called the Kibar-Kûn, its end a rail system linking all the great holds of the Clans region.
