Triton is one of the more well-known sons of Poseidon and Amphitrite. Like his mother, he had a change of heart in the Creation War, leaving Chaos's destroyers, the Primordials, joining the side favoring Creation under the Nawirrûs Covenant.

Triton had a thousand member harem comprised of nothing but merfolk. Starting in 2601 DE, the offspring of this harem became known as the Tritons. Since these offspring were truly different than the merfolk, thanks to Triton's primordial blood, they were classified as their own race.
