Many creatures of Gulimbor were affected by magical energies that ravaged the region during the Gulimbor Cataclysm (996 - 1203). These creatures are called Gulimbor Tainted.
A creature that is Gulimbor Tainted are spellwarped. They pass their affliction to their off-spring when both parents are spellwarped, otherwise there is only a 30% chance of it passing down to their offspring. Some khazarkars and Tragarans are Gulimbor Tainted. During the Great Exodus (998 - 1017), they went to other parts of the realm; mostly to Brucrumus. Many of these Gulimbor Tainted khazarkars and Tragarans could only find mates that were spellwarped. Thus the affliction has persisted for thousands of years in some families. There are some cults where spellwarped is seen as an evolution to a higher and better form.
