Skurd is one of three rivers that form the headwaters of the river Rute. Skurd was formed when Hel activated the northern Temple of Begnhidrir. When the fires of this ancient demon temple were lit, they begin to melt the eerie blue ice and snow of the encroaching Ice Cap. These eternal fires have been burning for thousands of years and continue to melt the glacial flows that are always pushing towards Begnhidrir.
At the head of Skurd is a narrow valley leading into Begnhidrir and then to the northern Temple of Begnhidrir. This valley is adorned with grotesque statues of female demons. These statues are older than even the demon temples in the valley beyond.
