In the Third Ugradrath War (1531 - 1539), this volcano was frozen by an expanding glacier named Cari'phis Tooth. This unnatural ice field, the result of destroying an artifact, cut-off the volcano's supply of lava and heat, making it a dead icy cone. Since that time, Berir has become home to icy types like frost giants, remorhaz, yeti, frost salamanders and ice mephits.
