During the reign of the First Khazarkar Empire these mountains were mined for its plentiful Anûkh'grush Crystals. This crystal is unique to this mountains. The mines were heavily exploited and now the crystals can only be found deep in the Underdark. Anûkh'grush is home to rocs and tribes of ogres and ogre-magi. The ogres remained in this land after the other civilizations fled in the Great Exodus (998 - 1017). They claim that they survived the Gulimbor Cataclysm (996 - 1203) by eating fungi and creatures of the Underdark and by taking up passive activities for food like fungi farming and fishing.
