Strike Talon are massive swords, saddle swords originally used for combat from the backs of dragons. Like a saddle sword, it can be used for slashing or as a short spear. Strike Talons differ in that the crossbar halfway up the blade, apart from preventing creatures from becoming stuck on the weapon, is part of the weapon's firing mechanism. One bar is twisted like a narrow grip. The other has a hole in the bar with a cross-hair. The hilt has a place to insert a multi-chambered Vortex Cell, making it a deadly repeating ranged weapon.
