Produced by crystal weaving, crystal rods are used to store energy. When the crystal is broken the energy is released either in as area of effect or projected down the length of a barrel. All energy weapons require crystal rods.
The energy used in crystal rods comes from energy rifts. Controlled, not widely available, crystal rods are expensive compared to arrows and quarrels.
