Isumbras

In 1827, the Drachdekai Pact began attacking the city-states of Orachan. Pact member Ba'lith deployed its navy as a blockading force against succor coming down from Ivory Asylum. The city-state Isumbras was the first to fall, given up to slaughter and rapine by the aggressors of the Fifth Suellk Invasion, it ceased to exist as a home to halflings and elderaunts. Ba'lith took control of the city's multitude of tobacco fields and garrisoned it. The take over the city has been costly, because the halflings that escaped now wage a guerrilla war from the hills and the Underdark, burning tobacco harvests and paralyzing overland trade.

Before the city's fall, it had a population of about 65,000. The people of Isumbras were often called Tobacco Monopolists for their overwhelming control of tobacco trade. It was then run by a syndicate government of tobacco merchants. Before becoming a hold of Ba'lith, the major churches of Isumbras were dedicated to Avandra and Phalgas. Under Ba'lith, these were levelled, replaced by the Church of Asmdoeus.
